FAQs

What is MiniRoos?

MiniRoos is a Fun, Healthy, Safe version of football, designed especially for children.

MiniRoos is played on smaller fields, with modified goals and fewer players. This modified format of the adult game has been designed especially for children, who have very different developmental characteristics and social needs from adults. The philosophy of MiniRoos is on enjoyment and freedom of expression, through playing the game, with limited emphasis on coaching per se. It is all about the children, and a fun introduction to the World Game.

What are the key benefits of MiniRoos?

  • Accessibility for all children of all abilities.

Coaching - the best way to volunteer!

The Albury Wodonga Football Association is excited to share the details of our upcoming MiniRoos Coaching Course and strongly encourage all clubs to register as many coaches as possible. Providing coaches with the right knowledge and skills is essential in fostering a positive and engaging environment for our MiniRoos players. The more we invest in coaching education, the better experience we can create for our young footballers as they develop their skills and love for the game.

Please find the course details below, and let’s work together to support our MiniRoos community!

Mini Roos Albury / Wodonga

Aimed at volunteer parents and coaches working with novice players or players aged approximately up to ten (10) years old.

The session is entirely practical and encourages the coach to create games based on enjoyment. The focus is on learning by playing football. The secret to encouraging players to develop a love for the game without coaching is to organise enjoyable football activities.

The coaches’ exposure to fundamental game rules and guidance on creating an enjoyable and safe football environment.
